Banana Bread for Beginners

So I've officially joined every single basic white girl in the UK right now and and made banana bread. I've never actually made any sort of bread before, so this was actually really challenging for me believe it or not.

You Will Need:

- 285g self-raising flour

- 1 teaspoon of baking powder

- 1/2 teaspoon of salt

- 110g butter

- 2 free range eggs

- 4 bananas (ripe)

- 225g caster sugar


Oven Temperature:

180 degrees celsius (or gas mark 5) for 60 minutes baking period.


How To:

Step One: Sieve and add your self-raising flour, salt and baking power into a bowl.

Step Two: Cream the butter and sugar together and add two eggs.

Step Three: Mash the four bananas until it becomes a paste and incorporate this into the butter, sugar and egg mixture.

Step Four: Fold this mixture slowly into the flour, salt and baking powder mixture, this allows air to stay into the mixture, allowing it to rise.

Step Five: Grease a bread tray using butter (allows for easy removal) and pour the mixture in.

Step Six: Bake in the oven for 60 minutes, checking every 20 minutes to see the rise and estimate how long it needs (I used two small loaf tins, so these needed about 30-40 minutes).

Step Seven: Allow to cool for 30-40 minutes, slice and serve.

I mean, for a first attempt at making bread it doesn't look that bad, right? I was a bit worried about the inside of the bread, but I suppose it's meant to be a bit different than normal bread considering there's massive bananas squished in the mixture.
